About the 500 Foods Watchlist
The Watchlist is a simple listing of various publicly-traded stocks and other commodities that are of interest to members of the 500 Foods community generally. Some of these relate to current or past clients, client of clients, and so on. Some are of general interest due to their immense size and related impact on everyone else. And some are just there mostly out of curiosity. Currently, no 500 Foods staff hold positions in any companies listed here.
Data Sources
Most of the data for the listed stocks comes from IEX Cloud and is updated continually throughout the day on regular weekdays (trading days). The entries that are not stocks are retrieved from Yahoo! Finance continually regardless of the day. Entries like Bitcoin of course don't correspond to a trading day.
This information is usually subject to 15min delays, as with most free or low-cost sources of stock quotes. There have also been instances of service outages and other delays. As such, it is highly recommended that this information NOT be used as a significant source of data when making trading decisions. Certainly it can be used to help keep tabs on stocks, but please ensure that you cross-reference with other trading data before making any such decisions.
