A patented system that improves cooling through pallets can benefit berry handlers, said Alain Garcia, sales engineer with FF Cooling Solutions.

Garcia said that with the air tightness system, the company’s high efficiency cooling cells can cool berries faster, improve consistency within the pallet, enhance shelf life and reduce energy costs.

“The investment is low: you can begin with just some cells and then increase the number of cells depending on your production,” he said.

That significantly improves the quality of fruit and reduces fruit waste, Garcia said.
